Lagos Base CampA cycling holiday in the Algarve from one hotel in Lagos, in five directions. Unpack once.

ONE BASE · FIVE RIDES
A star, not a line
Sagres · Aljezur · Fóia · Bravura · Silves
The Portuguese call the western Algarve Barlavento, the windward side. It is the only place we know where a road climb of 900 metres, a cliff-top gravel track to the end of Europe, a reservoir, a racetrack and a Moorish capital all sit within a day's ride of the same breakfast table.
So this trip stays put. One hotel in Lagos, five rides in a star, and every evening back to the same room, the same people. No packing, no luggage in a van, no wondering where tonight's dinner is.
Lagos Base Camp is a private cycling holiday run by Musette Travel, a boutique cycling-holiday company in Lagos, Portugal. Five riding days and six nights from one hotel in Lagos, for private groups from six riders, February to June and September to November. First departures May 2027. We are taking bookings now.

Land at Faro (Lisbon on request). Group transfer west to Lagos, about an hour. Bike fitting in the afternoon, a briefing with your guide in the evening, dinner in town.
Night: Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton
Along the coast through Luz, Salema and Raposeira to Vila do Bispo, Sagres and Cabo de São Vicente, the southwestern corner of Europe. Lunch in Sagres, coffee on the way back.
Night: Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton
North through Bensafrim and the cork-oak lanes, over the ridge at Marmelete and down to Aljezur, a river town with a castle. If the day allows, on to Arrifana and its beach.
Night: Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton
Inland to the Barragem da Bravura, Lagos’ quiet reservoir, and past the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, the racetrack on the hill, without going in. Gentle, green and mostly ours.
Night: Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton
The Algarve’s highest point, 900 metres, reached by one long, sustained climb through the Serra de Monchique. Chestnut trees, spring water, and on a clear day both coasts from the top. Lunch in Monchique on the way down. The shorter version cuts the approach, not the climb.
Night: Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton
Through orange groves to the old Moorish capital of the Algarve: red sandstone castle, a long lunch on the river. The relaxed closing day.
Night: Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton
Breakfast, then the transfer to Faro.

ALENTEJO · ÉVORA · NO PRICE YET
The Montado: be our first guest
Our new Alentejo holiday, around Évora: cork oaks, long empty roads, and the wine estates this region is known for. A riding week with a tasting in it, not a wine tour with a bike.
The first groups ride it while we are still deciding a few details on the road, and they travel at a reduced rate.
